CarICOOS is the Caribbean Integrated Coastal Observing System,
one of eleven regional components of the US Integrated Coastal
Ocean Observing System. This web page was created under a grant
from NOAA for the establishment of the Caribbean Regional Association (CaRA) for ICOOS. CaRA will be responsible for the planning, implementation and management of the regional observing system. As
an initial step towards the goal of providing pertinent and timely information on the marine environment we have brought together existent regional observing data streams under a single interface. Data sets are listed as observations, forecasts and models. Observations are presented as near-real time data lists or images. Forecasts are those provided by US government agencies as operational products. Models present nowcasts and forecasts derived from experimental, data assimilative computer models available from government agencies and educational institutions.
